Re: A bheil Gàidhlig na Siorrachd Pheairt Beò fhathast?

Tha cuid de nan Gàidheal ann an Ceap Breatainn a tha a bruidhinn dual-chainntean á bith ann an Alba. Theagamh gun robh ann air sin a tha esan a' luaidh

There are Gàidhlig speakers in Cape Breton who speak dialects now dead in Scotland. Is that what he's referring to?

Re: Gender of loan words

It was Saoghal Plastaig Ghòrdan (FlimG on youtube) about a guy who designed plastic lobster pots. The guy at the very end (Calum I think) really rounded his 'a's, so 'bliadhna' sounded like 'bliona' and, to my ears at least, sounded more like how they say it 'as Gaeilge'

The poem has been turned into a song by Griogair Labhruidh (which I am completely entranced by), I've tried transcribing it but there are too many words I don't know and his accent is not what I'm used to so I thought finding the poem would be a short-cut to working out what the words are.

Siubhal a' Choire

Greetings All,

I'm trying to find the words to George Campbell Hay's 'Siubhal a' Choire' but I've only been able to find the middle stanza. The musicality of it has so captured me that I'm desperate to find the rest of the poem. Does anyone have a copy they could share?

Tapadh leibh,

Seumas.
